Acne, child hood/ adolescent - Many adolescents suffer from acne. The common response is to go to a doctor, GP. Two things tend to happen from there: the GP will put the teenager on an antibiotic & a face wash cream OR refer you on to a dermatologist who could recommend Roaccutane or a pharmacy acne skin care regime.
Either of these alternatives may or may not be successful. However, they can mask what is really going on internally.
We recommend a natural common sense approach:
1) Wash the face morning and night in warm water with a face washer.
2) Take up a diet of fresh fruit and vegies, minimize take away food & soft drink, lollies, chocolate and caffeine. Lots of grains to deacidify the body ie: Kamut, Quinoa, Spelt. Reduce wheat and dairy intake *No raw vegetables or fruit after 6pm
3) Drink LOTS of water and fresh juices.
4) Get some sun regularly 10-15 minutes on the face, not in the middle of the day.
5) Start a skin care regime with Pharmos Nutur® products, which help to balance the oil in the skin.
6) Try Aloe Vera juice. 15ml morning and evening to harmonise body internally and improve digestion and elimination of toxins. Please remember, our natural approach is not a quick fix. But it will not ignore and mask symptoms, but help to normalize the skin gradually and naturally.

Sensitive is an over used term these days. We often see reactive skin, i.e., skin that reacts to products or ingredients applied. Reactions can occur in seconds or hours.
Sensitivities are built up over time according to usage.
In most cases with sensitive skin, it is best to get a sample of one or 2 products from a range and try them for a few days. If you skin doesn't react in that period of time you probably are alright.
Dry skin relates to oil in the skin (called sebum) when not enough sebum is being produced. This condition can be lifetime or gradually come on with age. It is not unbeatable but you don't need to slap handfuls of moisturiser on either.
Make an appointment for a mini-facial with one of our trained Beauty Therapists to see what products can be used and how well you skin will respond.
Both these are a reddening of the skin. Couperose relates to weakened capillary walls and brings blood to the superficial levels of the skin giving it a pink appearance. There are several points to comment on this point.
1) Smoking can worsen it?
2) It can be an inherent condition.
3) Vitamin C may help in the long term to strengthen capillary walls.
4) No raw fruit or vegetables after 6pm.
5) Add more alkalising foods to diet to help reduce acidity in body.Roseacea, often treated by dermatologist, is called on overheating of the body presenting on the face. It is aggravated by coffee and spicy foods.
